confession and communion make a service that is appealing
to all ages. It is a casual friendly atmosphere, where many
worshippers stay after and chitchat over coffee and donuts.Throughout the year we also have special services. On Reformation Sunday, we nailed copies of Martin Luther's 95 theses to a "door." Our Christmas Eve Service is a carol sing with a slight contemporary feel. For Easter, in the past, the Praise Team presented the cantata "Risen."
Please come and join us singing praises and worshiping our Lord and Savior.
Our Lenten midweek worship has been planned to start with a service at 7:30pm Ash Wednesday with Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion at Trinity.
We will again be joining with New Hope utilizing the same format as in the past: 6:30pm Soup Supper; 7:30pm Worship--all in the Social Hall. The general theme for the talks/ discussions will be: The kingdom of heaven is like a fish net that pulls in all kinds of fish; the good are kept, the bad are discarded. Offerings will be donated to New Hope Food Pantry.
Trinity would host Feb 29, March 14 & 28, and New Hope the alternate Wednesdays.
Adult Bible Study
Friday - 10:30 AM
The Adult Bible Study group is meeting on Friday's, at 10:30AM in the parlor. We will continue our study of the Evangelical Catechism. A contemporary catechism published in Germany for adults (We re using the American Edition so you don't have to know German!). This covers everything in the Christian life and is not Luther's Small Catechism. I also have a concise little book on the five major world religions that is very relevant to this time in our nation's history. I recently heard the author speak; he is Teaching Pastor at St John Lutheran Church in Roanoke, VA. If you like lively discussion in a relaxed atmosphere, come and join in!
Communion for Home-Bound Members
Kervyn Mach and Ruth Ann Peck were commissioned December 6, 2009 to take Holy Communion to our home-bound members. They will visit shut-ins once per month. Pastor Doug will continue to visit the sick and shut-in, but wanted them to receive Holy Communion monthly.
